Christ Church, Barkisland



Christ Church, Barkisland stands on Scammonden Road.

It is an Anglican church built in 1820 by Mallinson & Healey.

There is a Gothic Revival carved stone reredos. It accommodated

There is a memorial tablet to William Baxter of Barkisland Lower Hall who gave land for the site.

There is some Victorian and 20th century stained glass. In 1883, a stained glass east window was installed following a bequest from Daniel Collins. In 1902, a memorial window was installed for Elizabeth B. Horton.

The screens were carved by Harry Percy Jackson.
