The following documents mention Roger de Howick and members of his family
Grant in frankalmoign from Sapientia, wife of Elias son of Roger [to the canons of Cockersand] of a fourth part of Bradford mill, that is, the moiety of that half part which she held by right of inheritance of the heirs of Roger de Howick rendering yearly to her and her heirs 2 shillings at the feast of St Martin for all service. [S.D. 1190-1218]The canons also had the release of Richard de Howick to the said Sapientia; the release of Robert son of Elias de Hoton [Hutton] to the same; the release of Adam son of Mary and Dionisia his wife to the same, respecting that portion of the said mill; and the charter Roger de Howick which he gave to Roger son of Orm respecting that mill.
