Rookes Hall, Norwood Green is also known as Lower Rookes, Nether Rookes. The Hall takes its name from the De Rokis / Rookes family who lived there.
There must have been an earlier building on the site There is a stone sundial over the porch dated 1638 when John Whitley who encased in stone or rebuilt the hall.
The present building is a 2-storey house with a 3-bay front. The attached warehouse was partly built over the service end in the mid 18th century. The ground floor of the warehouse is used as a garage.

In 1519, John Rookes left Rookes Hall, probably one of the last of his family to live there.
Subsequent owners and tenants have included
The windows at the front were altered [1846].
The farm was entirely demolished in 1888 and replaced by modern dwellings
