The Yorkshire Evening Post [22nd December 1921] reported
Depression owing to financial matters was mentioned as a reason
for Harry Town having hanged himself.
The Inquest was held today, and his wife Rhoda Town who made
the discovery, said that for some time he had been worried
financially.

Hubert Henry Town, a motor driver of Halifax, was one of a
number of drivers accused of failing to illuminate their rear
identification plates.
He was fined £2 (or 28 days)
Motorist Hubert Henry Town, of Thrum Hall Lane, knocked
down Mrs Anne Baxendale (aged 77), of 4 Allerton Place,
Halifax.
Her right leg was injured, and Mr Town took her home, but,
finding that she lived alone, he took her to the Infirmary.
She died there on 17th October 1938
Hubert Town of Thrum Hall Lane, was fined 10 shillings for
offences under the Lighting Restrictions Order
