Inscription


Sacred to the memory of
Jeremiah  Swift of Bailey Hall, Halifax,
Who died June 13th 1873,
aged 50 years.
     
Ruthless and cruel was the blow that took my life away.
Forgive them, Christ my Saviour said. Lord! teach me so to pray
And when before the judgment seat, when sorrow is no more,
May I and mine each other greet upon that radiant shore
     
Also Sarah,
wife of the above,
who died April 18th 1898,
aged 75 years.
     
My Jesus hath done all things well
     
Also of Emily Lyon,
youngest daughter of the above,
who died May 13th 1927,
aged 65 years.
     
Also Mary Emma Swift,
eldest daughter of the above,
buried 10th April 1929,
aged 80 years
