Grave of William Coates & Family

Here lies the body of William Coates who died on 9th May 1856, aged 36 years.     He was Coachman for 11 years to Colonel Akroyd MP of Bankfield, And was not less respected for his faithfulness, than beloved for his genial temper and kindly disposition.     In affectionate remembrance of Joseph Coates, son of the above, who died December 30th 1874, in his 24th year.     Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth Ecclesiastes 12c. LV.     This stone was given by Col. Edward Akroyd.     Also Elizabeth Pogson, born Oct. 19th 1818, died Oct. 4th 1898.     At Rest
