A photograph looking south along Southgate with the Greyhound on the extreme left, the White Horse, Halifax in the next block, and the Shakespeare Tavern, Halifax & the Theatre Royal in the distance.

The photograph was taken by Arthur Vincent Wild around 1891 when Edward Roberts was landlord of the pub
