The grave of Rev Joseph Pollard & family at Booth Independent Church

Inscription

In memory
of the Rev Joseph Pollard who was
minister at this place twenty three
years and died in the faith and hope
of a blessed immortality on the 27th
Octr 1825 in the 59th year of his age

"Wise to win souls he labour'd with success
for God his master did his labours bless
why should a tender widow sigh or grieve
let my departure teach her how to live
or why should friends lament or children cry
to God's decree all flesh is born to die
therefore death called for me pray weep no more
I am not lost I'm only gone before"

Also MARTHA his wife who died April
1st 1840 aged 71 years

"Through faith she willingly resigned
her earthly tenement to dust
in Joyful hope to find
a resurrection with the just"
