Lane, Sowerby Bridge, when he fell and fractured his skull.
He died from the injury

John Sharpe [aged 21], a workman on the Manchester & Leeds Railway
at Sowerby Bridge, was killed whilst descending a shaft in a tunnel.
The skip he was travelling in collided with an empty skip which was
coming up the shaft.
Another man, Mr Smith, fell 50 ft to his death
