John Ogden

John Ogden was a Halifax geography teacher.

His published works include

• Yorkshire's River of Industry - the story of the river Calder [Dalton 1972]
• Yorkshire's River Derwent [Dalton 1974]
• Yorkshire's River Aire [Dalton 1976]
• Haworth of the Brontës - with Phyllis Bentley – [1977]
• Halifax Old and New - with Arthur Porritt

He also wrote many articles and contributed to other publications, including geological contributions to the three editions of the Calderdale Way Guide, and articles and photographs for two Australian geography textbooks:

• The Changing Surface of the Earth by Twidale & Stehbens [1978],
• Settlement Patterns & Processes by Harris & Stehbens [1981]

He was a member of the Halifax Authors' Circle
