Rev Samuel John Stancliffe was educated at Heath Grammar School and St John's College Cambridge.
He became a local preacher. In 1662, he was ejected.
He served at Stanmore, Middlesex.
In his will, he left £100 for
improving and adorning
Heath Grammar School. A tablet was erected to remember the bequest
