In the name of God Amen I Richard Brodley of the Lane Ends in the township of Hipperholme and county of York being in health and perfect memorie (praised be God) doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament; and for my worldly goods I thus dispose of them, first I will that my funerall charges be payd and all my just debts be fully satisfyed in the first place; then I doe give unto my daughter Sarah Brodley the somme of three score pounds for her portion and preferment in marriage.Item I give to my eldest sonne Mathew Brodley twenty shillings.
Item I give to my second sonne Isaacke Brodley all my working instruments appertayninge to the workinge and dressinge of cloth (excepting the two tenters) Item I give to my daughter Mary Pollard twenty shillings; the rest of my goods and chattels (excepting the said two tenters) I do give and ordaine to be equally devided betwixt these fower vizt Sammuell Brodley my third sonne Martha Tesimond and Sara Brodley my daughters and Phoebe Pollard my grandchild and of this my last will and testament I doe make my eldest sonne Mathew Brodley to be sole executor in testimony hereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this eight and twentith day of October Anno Domini one thousand six hundred thirty and three signed in the presence of Mathew Brodley & Isaacke Brodley the day and year noted.
Mathew Brodley the sole executor took the oath.
