Several newspapers printed accounts on the death of Miss Kate Emsley

THE LATE MISS KATE EMSLEY

The death of Miss Kate Emsley A.R.C.M., of Clapton Mount, whilst on a visit to London, came as a shock to her many Halifax friends.

Miss Emsley was a gifted pianoforte teacher, and she took a keen and lovable interest in her pupils, whose progress to their studies gave her the utmost delight.

Many clever pianists in the district owe much to her painstaking training and will regret her sudden end.

Miss Emsley was trained under Mr Gordon Heller, Mr G. F. Sharpe, and Mr F. de G. English. and was a member of the Halifax Choral Society.

She formerly resided at Lee Mount. and whilst there took charge of the musical services at Lee Mount Baptist Church.

When she came to Halifax she attached herself to Pellon Lane Baptist Church, where she was much respected
